Salvation is the salvaging of the soul from the kingdom of darkness and the divine transformation of the soul through the work of regeneration, which the Spirit of God effects in us as we do the works of faith within the boundaries of the second covenant.
In order for the process of divine transformation to begin to take place, conversion must first take place.
The conversion of a sinner to a saint is the transitioning of one who is in the kingdom of darkness (Satan’s system of false knowledge called sin) into the kingdom of light (God’s system of grace and truth called the covenant of Jesus Christ).
There are four easy steps for conversion into covenant with God:
4) The Seal
These steps of conversion are a pattern that God set for us through Abraham.
God revealed Himself to Abraham and told him to depart from his father’s house and from his country to go into a land that the Lord would show him. This revelation was the issuance of God’s grace towards Abraham.
Genesis 12:1 “Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee.”
Abraham obeyed the voice of the Lord and departed from his father’s house and from his country, and went into a strange land. His response to the grace of God drew faith from his heart.
Hebrews 11:8 “By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.”
Because Abraham responded to God in faith, God declared him righteous.
Genesis 15:6 “And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.”
God then made a covenant with Abraham that required of him the circumcision of his foreskin as a sign that he was in covenant with Him. By this act he was sealed into covenant with the living God.
Genesis 17:11 “And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.”
God issues forth grace for salvation to the sinner, calling them to come out from sin (out from the house of the father of lies) and into covenant with Him. Upon hearing and believing the truth of God, faith is drawn from the repenting sinner’s heart and God declares them righteous.
But now, in order for them to be saved they must be sealed into the covenant of Jesus Christ. The baptism of the Holy Spirit seals our repentance and brings us into covenant with the living God.
The sign of our conversion is no longer a fleshly circumcision, but a circumcision of the heart by the Spirit.
Grace, faith, righteousness and the seal of the Spirit are the steps of conversion by which we are saved.
