15 Reasons Why A Good Prayer Life Is Important For Your Christian Walk

Prayer, Praying and Seeking God, Prayer and Faith
Many people today are desiring to have a relationship with God but don’t know how. Many desire the beauty of holiness but don’t know where it begins. Our relationship with God is greatly dependent on a good prayer life. Without prayer in our daily life their is no communication with God and holiness  seems to be out of reach.

Prayer is a token for your increase. Prayer first begins with a seeking heart. Jesus said in (Luke 12:31) But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. With a seeking heart we are as little children. We are removing all the idols from the heart. With a seeking heart we are desiring to know God and for Him to revile Himself unto us.

When Jesus said, “All these things shall be added unto you.”  Jesus was speaking of Gods kingdom. Jesus was speaking about having an understanding heart, emparting unto you the mysteries of His kingdom which comes through the Holy Spirit. It is one thing to read about it in the scriptures and it is another to gain Gods perspective.

Prayer also begins with the baptism of the Holy Spirit. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is the beginning of God sealing us unto Himself. God is separating us from the world unto Himself. Without this separation of sanctification God cannot work salvation in the soul. This shows us that it takes the Spirit of God to join us to God. Our will matches His will.

Prayer is the beginning of worshiping God in the Spirit. To worship God in Spirit first begins with the baptism of the Holy Spirit which is the evidence of speaking in tongues. The life of God begins here it is the beginning of Gods life in the soul.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit is a sign and token from God. The sign is the evidence of speaking in tongues, you are speaking the language of the angels. A token meaning that this a portion of God, a gift to which we will be responsible with, a token for your increase.

(Luke 11:33)  No man, when he hath lighted a candle, puts  it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.

Prayer is a token for your increase, a gift from God which is not something to sit on, it is designed for increase. This why prayer is so important, by praying in tongues daily and as often as you can. It is very important to have a good prayer life. Daily set time quiet prayer time with the Lord starting with 15 minutes a day. Then work your way up to an hour a day. The more we labor in prayer in praying in tongues the more God will increase in His fellowship with us. (1Thessalonians 5:17) Pray without ceasing.

Prayer is our place of habitation with God. This is where we can daily communication with God for fellowship so that we may know God and serve God who is the creator and sustainer of all things. Just as God sustains all things by His Spirit so also God must sustain our faith by His Spirit. Without the Spirit of God their is no sustaining power to carry our faith and without the Spirit of God it is impossible to have fellowship with God and please God.

When we set our hearts to seeking God and petitioning Him in remembrance of His covenant and in respect to His testimony. God also reciprocates and answers according to His mercy. We can take confidence that God hears our prayer and answers according to His timing and wisdom.

Through prayer the Spirit of God reviles unto us the face of God. In prayer we are expressing Christ to God in our spiritual sacrifices. Through our spiritual sacrifices we are describing the face of God in His testimonies, in His glory, in His strength, in His love and long suffering for those who love Him. (Ezekiel 39:29) Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.

Through prayer the Spirit of God ministers unto us Gods perspective. It is God perspective that will carry substance for our faith. Gods perspective is seen in His wisdom, knowledge and understanding. The Spirit of God teaches us the fear of the Lord as well as just counsel and gives a strengthened will to know and serve God.

Through prayer the Spirit of God fills us with the fruits of righteousness. The Spirit of God en-grafts in us the temperament of grace. These are the 9 fruits of the Spirit which are love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith meekness and temperance. (Philippians 1:11) Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

(Isaiah 11:2) And the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;

How does the Spirit of the Lord rest upon us? The Spirit of the Lord rest upon us as we remain in the environment for our spiritual growth.  This is at the alter of Christ. Through prayer God has given us a place of rest which is our holy habitation

Why do we worship God in the Spirit? It is because God is a Spirit and God knew it was impossible for us to worship Him in sinful flesh being void of His light. This is why we need the Spirit of God within in us. This is why prayer is so important.

God also knew it was impossible for the soul to increase in the fruits of Him kingdom. This is also why we need the Spirit of God within us. Through prayer God awakens our understanding by imparting unto us the wisdom of His kingdom. This is how we are prosperous before the Lord. (Job 8:6) If thou were pure and upright; surely now He would awake for you, and make the habitation of your righteousness prosperous.

Through prayer we make our petitions before the Lord where the Spirit of God makes intercession for us. (Romans 8:26) Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered.
